Terms of Use
Effective 13 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Aurorama (aurorama.app), a service run by PT. Nera Teknologi Utama (“we”). By using Aurorama you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Aurorama.
Summary
- Aurorama is free to use.
- Every chance shown is an estimate. Aurora is never guaranteed.
- Forecasts rely on outside data that can be late, missing or wrong.
- Check official sources before you travel, and stay safe outdoors at night.
About the service
Aurorama combines space-weather forecasts with local weather, darkness, moonlight and light pollution to estimate how likely you are to see the aurora at a destination, hour by hour. The globe shows the aurora oval and the solar wind for illustration.
Forecasts are estimates
- The chance shown comes from a statistical model calibrated on citizen-science aurora reports. It can be wrong, and real conditions change quickly.
- Space-weather forecasts are uncertain, especially more than a day ahead. Cloud forecasts can change within hours.
- A high chance does not mean you will see the aurora; a low chance does not mean you won’t.
- Do not base travel, bookings or other costly decisions on Aurorama alone. We do not refund or compensate for trips, tours or nights without aurora.
Your safety
Aurora watching often means cold, dark and remote places. You are responsible for your own safety: check road and weather warnings, dress for the conditions, and respect private land, local rules and protected areas.
Data sources
Aurorama uses data and imagery from, among others:
- NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center: OVATION aurora model, Kp forecasts and real-time solar wind (public domain);
- Open-Meteo: weather forecasts and place search (CC BY 4.0);
- GFZ Potsdam: historical Kp index (CC BY 4.0);
- Aurorasaurus: citizen aurora reports used for calibration (CC BY-NC 4.0);
- NASA: Blue Marble and Black Marble imagery.
These providers are not affiliated with Aurorama and do not endorse it.
Acceptable use
When using Aurorama, you must not:
- disrupt, overload or try to breach the service or its security;
- scrape or access it automatically in a way that burdens it or the data providers behind it;
- use it for anything unlawful, or present its forecasts as official warnings.
